API
A read-only JSON API for single-entity lookups is in progress. It will need no key and will be rate-limited rather than gated.
Available today
The complete record is already downloadable in bulk as CSV, JSON and a plain domain list, with stable versioned URLs and no rate limit — see data and exports. For most uses that is strictly better than an API: one request, no pagination, no key to rotate, and a CDN response rather than a database query.
What it will look like
Single-entity lookups under /api/v1/, returning the same fields the exports carry, with the same ownership classification and the same sources. Versioned on the same terms as the export files: the shape of a v1 response will not change.
